About the Role

We are seeking an experienced editorial executive to join Springer Medicine, our digital medical education platform that provides up-to-date, English-language medical information and commentary to clinical specialists worldwide. You’ll be a senior team member, instrumental in developing content for your specific clinical specialties across the platform. Your focus will be on driving the continual delivery of high-quality scientific and clinical content programs that meet the educational and developmental needs of busy healthcare professionals. You will have a strong background in scientific publishing or medical writing, an interest in developing a thorough understanding of clinical topics within a major discipline and be confident in communicating with high-level experts.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Editorial lead for at least two specific clinical specialties for the platform
  • Staying abreast of the latest issues and advances in the field, and identifying hot topics and educational gaps for practicing clinicians
  • Representing the platform at international conferences, including networking with key experts in the field
  • Managing the content pipeline to include topical and relevant journal articles, news, congress hubs, and CME
  • Audience engagement via the website, curated newsletters, and social media
  • Commissioning and creating webinars, podcasts, expert interviews, and clinical trial summaries
  • Ensuring content meets a high level of scientific and clinical accuracy and consistency
  • Contributing to innovation projects that enhance engagement and user experience

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential

  • A postgraduate degree in medical/biological/natural sciences, ideally with research experience
  • Editorial experience, either working as a content editor, journalist, or medical writer for a scientific publisher (minimum 5 years)
  • Ability to attend and report from specialist conferences and meetings, including international travel
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English (additional languages a bonus)

Desirable

  • Experience in delivery of CME/IME
  • Experience in online platform delivery
