The role supports the delivery of Springer Nature’s researcher engagement strategy, with a particular focus on digital research seminars, virtual events, and connected engagement experiences across Research Communities and related platforms. The role is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and delivery of events, contributing to engaging, well-executed experiences that meet researcher and author needs, support wider engagement goals, and help build long-lasting relationships with academic audiences.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, platform teams, Community Managers, and external partners, this role helps implement best practice, repeatable processes, and scalable delivery models for digital events and engagement activity. The role supports teams across Springer Nature to deliver events effectively at scale, while providing selective hands-on support for priority or complex initiatives.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain event templates, playbooks, and delivery guidance to enable consistent delivery across Springer Nature.
  • Coordinate event planning, delivery, promotion, and hands-on support for priority or complex events.
  • Monitor performance, audience feedback, and engagement data to improve impact and inform planning.
  • Embed best practice for digital event production, accessibility, format, and audience engagement.

Platform Development and User Experience

  • Understand and improve end-to-end user journeys across Research Communities, Research Seminars, and related channels.
  • Represent researcher and author needs in programme delivery and platform improvement.
  • Work with Product, Technology, Community, and platform teams to improve usability, discoverability, accessibility, scalability, and retention.
  • Support testing and rollout of new features that improve event delivery and cross-platform engagement.
  • Ensure platform compliance and escalate risks where appropriate.

Stakeholder and Partner Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, platform providers, and external partners.
  • Collaborate with Editorial, Publishing, Product, Technology, Marketing, and Engagement teams to align delivery with audience and business needs.
  • Identify timely research topics for promotion through Communities and Seminars activity.
  • Communicate performance insights, opportunities, and recommendations clearly.
  • Support shared best practice and continuous improvement across researcher engagement activity.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

Essential

  • Experience delivering digital events, webinars, seminars, or online engagement programmes.
  • University degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting scalable event programmes, audience growth, or digital engagement activity.
  • Experience working with digital platforms, community platforms, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to use data, feedback, and audience insight to improve delivery and performance.
  • Experience developing repeatable processes, templates, playbooks, or guidance.
  • Understanding of researcher, author, publishing, or scholarly communications environments (desirable).

  • Structured, proactive problem-solving approach.
