About the Role: As an Associate Medical Writer, you will work closely with senior team members to learn the craft of medical writing and produce high quality scientific content focused on delivering medical education that satisfies client needs in terms of quality, commercial focus, timing and cost. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and clients to develop a wide variety of educational materials for different audiences, translating complex scientific content into engaging and accessible content while ensuring educational objectives are met. An agile and adaptable mindset is essential, and you will interact with stakeholders at all levels of the Springer Health+ organisation as part of an established team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop medical writing skills through comprehensive training and close collaboration with senior Scientific Services Team members.
- Write and edit scientific content for a range of healthcare-related educational projects for various audiences, according to client needs, deadlines, budgets and internal quality standards.
- Monitor adherence to budget and utilisation rate; record and monitor actual time spent on a project against budgeted time and complete timesheets accurately and promptly.
- Support team working principles and collaboration within the team and wider Springer Health+ group; attend and contribute to team and editorial meetings.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
- Essential: Life Science degree or equivalent
- Desirable: Higher degree (MSc or PhD)
Experience:
- Desirable: Any previous experience in a medical communications/education agency or the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry is desirable, but not essential
Skills:
- Proficient scientific writing skills with ability to interpret complex scientific data
- Able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A proactive and flexible team player with a collaborative approach
- Highly computer literate with good working knowledge of common software (e.g. Microsoft Office suite) and the ability to learn new software quickly
