The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.
A maintenance person's day-to-day tasks can be extremely varied. One day you may be helping to build furniture, and another day carrying out routine checks around the home.
Responsibilities
- Preventative maintenance and general building repair such as repairing broken locks, doors, and other loose fittings.
- Carrying out routine checks on equipment and services such as fire alarms, extinguishers, fire doors, and carrying out any tasks in the home's maintenance books.
- Minor plumbing and carpentry.
- Painting and decorating.
- Keeping the exterior of the homes clean, tidy, and free from trip hazards.
- Changing light bulbs and keeping stock of items such as bulbs, batteries, and other equipment.
- Before a weekend or bank holiday, checking that lights, equipment, heating, and items such as batteries, are all working.
- Providing meter readings for utilities and any boilers.
Qualifications & Skills
- Team player who can also work on their own initiative.
- Good communication skills, both written and spoken, and able to communicate with residents and colleagues.
- Commitment to delivering a high standard of work.
- Sensitivity to the needs of others and mindful of residents.
- Proactive, able to prioritise, and a positive work ethic.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to any ad-hoc needs of the home.
- Basic computer and/or handheld device skills.
- All-round maintenance skills such as joinery, plumbing and painting.
- Experience within a similar environment or role.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations and compliance.
- Physically fit and able to lift lighter items of furniture/objects safely.
- Ability to maintain and use handheld tools safely (following any appropriate training).
- Willingness to attend any training that will develop their skills and is relevant to the role.
- Hold a full driver's licence.
Successful applicants will need two written references, a standard/enhanced DBS (depending on role) and evidence of right to work in the UK.
