We’re currently partnering with a well-established and growing logistics business to recruit an experienced Night Transport Operations Coordinator for their busy overnight operation in Birchwood. The Opportunity
Working as part of the night operations team, you’ll play a key role in coordinating transport activity, supporting drivers and ensuring customer expectations are consistently achieved. You’ll be responsible for monitoring live operations, reacting quickly to operational challenges and keeping communication flowing between drivers, customers and internal teams throughout the shift. This is a hands-on operational role where no two nights are the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating and overseeing overnight transport operations
- Planning and allocating work effectively across drivers and vehicles
- Monitoring live deliveries and responding to operational issues in real time
- Maintaining regular communication with customers regarding service updates
- Supporting drivers with route queries, delays, breakdowns and site issues
- Ensuring transport compliance, driver hours and operational procedures are followed
- Updating transport and tracking systems accurately throughout the shift
- Managing shift handovers and ensuring clear operational communication between teams
- Supporting overall fleet utilisation and service performance targets
About You
We’re keen to speak with candidates who have experience within transport, logistics or fleet operations and are comfortable working in a busy, reactive environment. You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience within transport planning or logistics operations
- A good understanding of driver hours and transport compliance
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly under pressure
- Excellent communication skills with both drivers and customers
- Confidence working independently on night shifts
- Experience using transport systems, tracking platforms or planning software
- A proactive and organised approach with strong attention to detail
