We are looking for an Import Operator with experience in Sea Imports to join our clients team in Bradford. This role is working for a well established company with a small, friendly team. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing end to end shipments for regular customers. The company imports from various locations so we will consider candidates with any experience within freight forwarding.
Main duties to include:
- Managing imports for regular clients
- Obtaining the best prices from carriers and negotiating rates
- Ensuring customers have the correct solution that meets their needs
- Ensure all shipments have the correct documentation
- Update customers and carriers with any changes
- Resolve queries relating to lost, damaged or delayed shipments
We are looking for:
- Experience of managing imports
- Knowledge of importing from the Far & Middle East would be an advantage but not essential
- Experience in a freight forwarder or similar business
- Overview of customs processes
- Excellent communication skills
- Someone who is organised and sees tasks through to completion
- Ability to work to deadlines
Salary: £30k-£35k - may go slightly higher for the right person
Hours: 9am-5pm
