About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Ocean Import Operator to join a fast-growing and highly respected freight forwarding team based near Manchester Airport. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 2 years’ experience in ocean imports who wants to join a company that truly values its people, offers a fantastic culture, and offers progression.

You’ll be responsible for managing ocean import shipments from start to finish, working closely with customers, overseas agents, and internal teams to ensure a smooth and efficient service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end ocean import shipments
  • Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, and customers
  • Arrange customs clearance and delivery
  • Monitor shipments and provide proactive updates to clients
  • Handle documentation and compliance requirements
  • Resolve shipment issues and ensure excellent customer service
  • Maintain accurate records within the internal freight system

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Ocean Import Operations within a freight forwarding environment
  • Strong knowledge of import processes and documentation
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive team attitude and customer-focused mindset
