About the Role
We are working with a well-established and highly reputable freight forwarder in the Wythenshawe area who are looking to add an experienced Ocean Freight Operator to their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable business with a strong reputation, low staff turnover, and a genuinely supportive working environment.
You will be handling either import or export ocean freight shipments, managing the full operational process from start to finish, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end ocean freight operations (import or export)
- Book shipments with carriers and co-loaders
- Prepare and process all relevant shipping documentation
- Liaise with overseas agents, customers, and suppliers
- Track and monitor shipments, resolving any issues proactively
- Ensure compliance with customs and shipping regulations
- Provide high levels of customer service throughout the shipment lifecycle
- Maintain accurate records and system updates

- Previous experience in ocean freight forwarding (import or export essential)
- Strong understanding of freight operations and documentation
- Confident communicator with good customer service skills
- Ability to manage workload in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
