We're recruiting for a Sea Freight Import Operator to join a large, global freight forwarding business in Manchester. This is an opportunity to join an established company with a friendly, supportive team who genuinely enjoy working together.
The Role
- Manage sea freight import shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Handle FCL and LCL shipments
- Liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and customers
- Prepare and process shipping documentation
- Coordinate customs clearance and delivery arrangements
- Monitor shipments and keep customers updated on progress
- Resolve operational issues and ensure shipments run smoothly
- Maintain accurate records and provide a high standard of customer service
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in sea freight import operations within a freight forwarder
- Good understanding of end-to-end sea freight import processes
- Knowledge of shipping documentation and customs procedures
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confident communicating with customers, suppliers and overseas agents
- Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively
- A positive, proactive approach and willingness to support colleagues
- Someone who enjoys working as part of a friendly, collaborative team
