Job Description
- Sea Import
We are urgently looking for an experienced Sea Import Operator based in West Yorkshire. This role is working for a well established company with a longstanding team and excellent career progression path.In this role, you'll be responsible for managing end to end shipments for regular customers. This means you'll quote the job, organise the route and carriers, track the shipment and produce any relevant paperwork. Customs knowledge would be a huge advantage.Main duties to include:
- Managing imports for regular clients
- Obtaining the best prices from carriers and negotiating rates
- Ensuring customers have the correct solution that meets their needs
- Ensure all shipments have the correct documentation
- Update customers and carriers with any changes
- Resolve queries relating to lost, damaged or delayed shipments
We are looking for:
- Experience of managing imports at a freight forwarder
- Working experience of managing shipments via Sea
- Someone who is organised and has excellent attention to detail
- Good communication and relationship building skills
