Salary: Up to £31,000 per annum

Contract/Hours: Permanent Full Time – 40 hours per week

About the role

This is a remarkable opportunity for an Early Years Teacher who is committed to raising teaching quality, driving curriculum excellence, and making a measurable difference in children’s early development.

As the Early Years Teacher at Spring the Levels, you’ll be a key member of the leadership team working closely with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager and acting as Third in charge when required.

You will take a leading role in shaping high-quality teaching and learning throughout the setting, ensuring practice reflects the EYFS, embraces creativity, and meets the developmental needs of each child.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and champion the EYFS curriculum across the nursery.
  • Guide and coach practitioners, modelling best practice and supporting their professional development.
  • Review data trends, monitoring outcomes for children, including EYPP and SEN.
  • Support the Nursery Manager with inspections, particularly curriculum and teaching elements.
  • Lead your room team to deliver inspiring, developmentally appropriate learning opportunities.
  • Ensure that learning plans reflect individual needs, including children with SEN.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, wellbeing, and inclusive practice.
  • Build meaningful relationships with colleagues, families, and external professionals.

What we need from you

Qualifications & Training

  • Early Years Initial Teacher Training (EYITT) or Early Years Professional Status (EYPS)
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Enhanced DBS

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience working and leading in an early year or school setting
  • Deep understanding of the EYFS and early childhood development
  • Experience in planning, observation and assessment
  • Knowledge of SEN approaches and inclusive practice
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Ability to support and mentor colleagues
  • Able to maintain Ofsted-level documentation and standards

About the nursery

Spring The Levels is a 36-place nursery located within The Levels Children Centre in Langport. The nursery provides a warm, friendly and stimulating environment for children ages 3 months to 5 years. Our highly qualified and dedicated team are passionate about nurturing children and supporting their early learning and development.

We work collaboratively with the wider network of Spring Nurseries in the local area, fostering shared resources, best practices, and a strong support system to ensure everyone has the tools they need to succeed.
