How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you. You’ll see a broad mix of patients including cats, dogs, small furries, exotics and wildlife. The caseload includes routine work alongside orthopaedics, TPLOs, fracture repairs, laparoscopy and ophthalmology, with hospital status allowing exposure to complex cases. Consult‑only roles can also be discussed.

You’ll have access to ultrasound, endoscopy, ECG, advanced imaging, a full IDEXX lab, digital and dental x‑ray, and a wide range of laparoscopic and orthopaedic equipment, all within a practice committed to continuous improvement and sustainability. Our main site offers separate cat and dog areas, multiple consult rooms, three theatres, dedicated imaging and lab spaces, purpose‑built wards, quiet office areas and welcoming staff facilities – plus free off‑site parking and opportunities to work across multiple branches.

Vets work 41 hours over four days, with shifts from 8am to a 6.30pm last appointment. The rota includes 1 in 5 Saturday mornings and 1 in 8 emergency day cover for our own clients only. There’s no OOH, and weekend working is balanced with extra time off, allowing up to five consecutive rest days.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development.
