We are looking to recruit an RVN to join our wonderful team at Spring Lodge Vets on a full time 12-month FTC basis, although we are open to both full time and part time cover. We are a RCVS accredited small animal hospital in Witham, Essex with 5 other accredited branches all a short drive from the hospital. Three of these branches are ‘stand-alone’ branches with facilities to image and operate. The other two branches are ‘consulting only’ branches which feed into the main hospital. The hospital has a full in-house lab, separate isolation, cat and dog wards. We have an orthopaedic theatre, lots of surgical kit including laparoscopic equipment and various endoscopes. All x-ray machines are digital, 3 of the sites have an ultrasound machine. We are also proud to be an ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic as well as a RWAF Rabbit Friendly Clinic.

The main hospital in Witham is within walking distance to a main line train station for easy access to London and is within driving distance to the East coast. We have a good mixture of surrounding countryside and town, and we are only half an hour from Stanstead airport.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

We are looking for someone who is able to work 40 hours per week inclusive of a 1:7 Saturday morning rota. OOH weekend day shifts are shared amongst the team and paid at extra rate. No nights or on call. Shifts between 7:30am and 7:30pm across all Spring Lodge sites.

The day-to-day duties will include:

  • Assisting our Veterinary Surgeons in theatre and consultations
  • Responsibility for inpatient care
  • Assisting with patient admits and discharges
  • Carrying out nurse consultations
