Job Duties:
- Assess the physiological and behavioral health status of patients
- Provide onsite residential care, involving outdoor walking between buildings
- Complete initial assessments at admission
- Accurately assess and document vital signs and signs of pain, ensuring pain treatment
- Communicate and document clients' psychosocial status
- Collaborate with the treatment team and ancillary departments to determine treatment and discharge plans
- Assist clients in understanding the nature of addiction and the need for treatment
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients
- Complete necessary documentation per organizational policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments, immunizations, and lab results
- Verify narcotic counts as per policies
- Administer medications following organizational policies
- Verify MAR for correct medication and timing
- Monitor behavioral changes related to medication administration
- Provide courteous, high-quality service and respond to requests or referrals promptly
- Complete BSAS-required educational nursing groups for clients
Job Requirements:
- Active and up-to-date State Practical Nursing license
- Preferably one year of experience in substance abuse treatment or behavioral hospital
- Knowledge of healthcare, detoxification, addiction, co-occurring disorders, and DSM criteria
- Ability to read, interpret, and write clearly; proofread for spelling and grammar
- Effective communication skills, including speaking persuasively and listening actively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
