Role Overview
EU Inbound Transportation Manager – You will be the primary architect of Spreetail’s inventory flow across the UK and Europe. This high‑impact, dual‑focus role combines logistical execution with commercial freight brokerage.
Key Responsibilities
- End‑to‑End Logistics Oversight: Manage inbound containers and trucks across the UK and Europe, ensuring seamless port handling, customs clearance, and inland haulage while eliminating auxiliary charges like demurrage.
- Strategic Inbound Scheduling: Coordinate with warehouse teams and utilize WMS/TMS tools to schedule deliveries, aligning inventory flow with sales demand and facility capacity.
- Commercial Freight Brokerage: Execute “Buy‑Sell” freight transactions by analyzing market trends and leveraging spot and contract rates to maximize profitability for PS customers.
- Vendor & Compliance Management: Lead relationships with 3PLs, carriers, and forwarders while ensuring all import/export documentation adheres to UK and EU trade regulations.
- SOP & Process Optimization: Develop and deploy standardized operating procedures for inbound receipts, ensuring fully audited processes and high operational accuracy across all fulfillment centers.
- Data‑Driven Reporting: Analyze logistics performance and pricing trends to provide stakeholders with actionable insights and cost‑saving strategies.
Qualifications
- Experience: 4+ years in logistics or transportation (specifically sea freight/containers) within a large 3PL or regional/global freight forwarder.
- Trade Knowledge: Deep understanding of Incoterms, customs regulations, global trade compliance, and UK/EU import/export procedures.
- Commercial Acumen: Proven experience in freight brokerage, pricing, and margin management.
- Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Communication: Fluent in English (additional European languages are a significant advantage).
