About Us

Spreadex has been operating for 25 years as a sports and financial spread betting provider. The business expanded to offer fixed odds betting in 2010, casino betting in 2011 and CFD trading in 2017. Spreadex is the only global operator to offer all of these services under one brand.

After 25 years of sustained profits, we’re now looking to take the next step and materially grow the business in the next 5 years on both the sports and financials side. Our ambitious plans are being supported by a material increase in our Marketing Budget and our expansion into Denmark. To support this growth, Spreadex is committed to more diversity and equality within our teams.

This opening provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to join a growing team in a vibrant office based in St Albans, just outside London. The role will be a mix of working from the office and working from home.

About The Position

The successful candidate will evaluate current business processes, uncover areas for improvement and then develop and implement the solutions. This role will offer a wide scope of business interaction working with both our financial and development teams.

We are looking to improve processes within our financial trading room and the successful candidate will be a key part of that. As a retail broker, we deal with a wide range of products from single stock equities, FX, futures, commodities, and cryptocurrencies. Successful candidates will be analysing client performance and the efficiency of our hedging process in these products. In addition, they will work to maintain and enhance our internal models used to measure market risk.

Your role as a developer will involve maintaining and developing various internal applications that are critical to room performance. From day 1 you will be designing and implementing programs that improve room efficiency and increase profitability. There are plenty of opportunities for career growth with internal training in our used languages provided (C# and SQL) combined with the participation in external courses funded and encouraged.

You will have ownership of projects; you will lead them through development and testing all the way through to business readiness and acceptance.

Recent projects have included designing a programmatic trading solution and using Machine Learning to estimate the value of a client over their lifetime.

CAREER PROGRESSION

We would expect you to spend roughly 1 year at the Junior Quantitative Analyst level. During this time, the focus will be on your education, and you will be supported through a variety of smaller scale projects.

After this you would progress to the Quantitative Analyst role where you would be expected to manage your own projects which would involve the more demanding areas of the codebase.

Finally, if this role is performed to a high level you would progress to a Senior Quantitative Analyst after roughly 3 years with Spreadex. You would work on the most demanding areas of the codebase whilst supporting more junior team members with their work. In addition, you would work with management in deciding team strategy and the prioritisation of work.

We would like to add that this structure is very flexible and if you perform at an exceptional level then you would be given the most interesting/complicated projects very quickly.

About You

  • You will have a mathematical based degree from a top University at grade 2-1 or higher.
  • Strong A-Level’s, in Science or Maths based subjects.
  • Interest/experience with quantitative finance is required.
  • Programming experience/ Interest in learning. Preferably in C# and SQL.
