Job context:
As Bloodstock Sales Editor you\’ll be responsible for our industry-leading sales content across all our media platforms as part of our Global Bloodstock team. In conjunction with the Global Bloodstock Editor, you will plan, organise, oversee and write sales content, including previews, reports, live blogs and analysis. Your leadership will ensure our platforms are the go-to place for in-depth coverage of all major sales across the globe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee sales coverage across Racing Post Bloodstock and Racing Post Bloodstock – ANZ, ensuring content is fresh, relevant and meets the needs of our audience.
- Responsible for proactively planning digital-first content (free and premium) around the sales schedule globally, taking in previews, reports, analysis and any other relevant formats.
- Monitor day-to-day output of sales content with regular reviews of content.
- Attend and report on major global sales.
- Attend to other bloodstock duties as appropriate, including occasional high-profile features, Bloodstock Big Reads, editions of Good Morning Bloodstock, Podcasts etc.
- Take responsibility for overseeing the Global Bloodstock Editorial department in the absence of the Global Bloodstock Editor.
- Assist the Global Bloodstock Editor where appropriate with managing and planning content for the Global Bloodstock content team.
- Work with commercial teams to facilitate Video output where appropriate.
- Help ensure that the team is working towards a strong, productive team culture.
- Adhere to media and copyright laws.
- Any other duties as and when required.
Requirements
Essential:
- Strong global bloodstock and racing knowledge.
- Highly self-motivated with a passion to succeed as an individual and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work to and meet deadlines.
- Team player with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.
- Demonstrate an innovative approach to problem solving and generating new ideas.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Effective negotiating / influencing skills.
- IT literate, including good operational knowledge of Google packages.
Desirable:
- Experience of in-house content management system.
- Experience of dealing with freelancers.
