We partner with leading operators across the betting industry to produce and build multilingual, best-class digital products and content to engage and educate customers.
Job Purpose / Summary
You will own and define the B2C Social Media strategy end to end, inclusive of influencer management and paid amplification. You will manage the campaign activity to ladder up to the wider brand positioning and goals, including attracting new audiences and engaging current audiences as outlined by our new segmentation/persona workstream (Newmarket). This includes day-to-day management of the social media function, working hand-in-hand with the AV Audience team to create meaningful and engaging content to simulate reaction and generate reach.
Responsibilities
- Be a senior voice within the marketing function, reporting directly into the Head of Marketing to help shape the future of Spotlight’s B2C Marketing.
- Define and evolve a multi-platform strategy tailored to new racing audiences (X, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, emerging channels).
- Alongside the Senior Campaigns Manager and Head of Marketing, be a key leader in strategising and managing the brand direction, ensuring it ladders up to the business’ 3-year plan.
- Develop platform-native content strategies (short-form video, live reaction, data-led graphics, tipping clips etc).
- Grow under-penetrated demographics (younger fans, female bettors, international audiences).
- Own social media end to end, with a big drive for more engaging short-form and creative output to meet the new future content strategy.
- Produce and create content which engages our audience and encourages/elicits a direct response relevant to the group's revenue lines from our social media channels.
- Own our third-party influencer programme, strategising ways to access their audiences in engaging ways that drive long-term audience adoption for Spotlight / Racing Post.
- Manage the social media team to ensure activity ladders up to wider business goals and content is generated to a high standard.
- Ensure all social media content and campaign activity meets compliance and responsible gambling best practice at all times.
- Own the relationship with any external agencies needed to meet the wider business goals, inclusive of PR, Social Media, Experiential and Campaign Activation.
- Align with, manage and contribute towards the day-to-day relationship with horse racing and sport editorial teams ensuring they are fully engaged with all Content Marketing activity during planning, execution and analysis phase.
- Work across multiple digital media - conceiving ideas, creating content, graphics and video.
- Create and track KPIs for each activity and platform, working with analyst resource to create self-serve dashboards and present various insights suitable for your team up to the CEO.
Qualifications
- Experience within a similar role, with a strong background in social media and/or short-form content.
- Proven ability within a leadership capacity, incorporating stakeholder management alongside executional excellence.
- Previous experience developing, nurturing and managing a social media strategy.
- Proven ability to think both creatively and strategically, ensuring a calendar of activity that both engages an audience and ladders up to a long-term brand plan.
- Proven ability managing third parties, including influencers and agencies.
- Recent management experience within a fast-paced and agile working environment.
- A strong interest in the latest online video trends and ability to translate that awareness into high-quality video content.
- Proven ability to manage a team that can plan, shoot, edit, publish and promote high-quality video content at pace.
- Strong data analysis skills to allow you to interpret figures and make informed decisions when optimizing content.
- Excellent sports betting and horse-racing knowledge a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication and influencing skills in vertical and matrix organisational structures.
