Job Purpose and Summary
We are growing our social‑first video output, producing engaging and creative content to reach new audiences across platforms such as TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, Facebook and X. You will play a key role in helping shape Racing Post’s social storytelling, creating short‑form video content that captures the excitement, drama and personality of horse racing. The Junior Social Video Producer will support the wider team by filming, editing and publishing daily content, contributing fresh ideas and developing their craft as part of a fast‑paced, innovative video team.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Assist in producing and editing short‑form video content for Racing Post’s social media channels.
- Work closely with the Senior Social Video Producer and Social team to deliver high‑quality videos optimised for each platform.
- Contribute ideas for reactive, trending and evergreen content to engage new and existing audiences.
- Support with filming on location and in studio, setting up cameras, lighting and sound.
- Edit and subtitle videos for a range of platforms, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines.
- Monitor and report on content performance, learning from analytics to improve future output.
- Assist in sourcing, clearing and crediting user‑generated content where appropriate.
- Maintain video asset libraries, templates and caption files.
- Collaborate with editorial and marketing teams to ensure content aligns with Racing Post’s voice and editorial priorities.
- Work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and evenings around key racing events.
Requirements
- Experience creating social‑first video content, or a strong portfolio of creative self‑started work.
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro; basic knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator desirable.
- Good understanding of platform best practices for TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, Facebook and X.
- Strong creative instincts and a good eye for framing, pacing and storytelling.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under time pressure.
- Comfortable using DSLR or mirrorless cameras to film interviews, events and short pieces to camera.
- Excellent organisational skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to take direction and feedback.
- A passion for sport and horse racing is a plus, but an enthusiasm for social video and creative storytelling is essential.
