About Spotlight Sound

Spotlight Sound is a Chelmsford-based AV company delivering service, maintenance and installation of sound, lighting and AV systems. We work across pubs, bars, clubs, schools, churches and commercial venues throughout the UK.

We’re looking for someone to take ownership of service and installation enquiries, from the first conversation with the client through to completion on site.

The role

This is a client-facing, technically focused role where you will manage jobs from enquiry through to delivery. You will handle inbound enquiries, carry out site visits where needed, understand what the client is trying to achieve, and build practical, well-costed solutions using our pricing structure and systems. Once a job is confirmed, you will coordinate it through to completion, working with our engineers and suppliers to make sure everything runs smoothly. This isn’t a sales role, but you do need to be comfortable talking to clients, asking the right questions, and turning enquiries into well-scoped, deliverable jobs.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle incoming service and installation enquiries
  • Carry out site visits where required to assess and scope works
  • Understand client requirements and design suitable AV solutions
  • Prepare accurate quotes using our systems, price lists and margin guidelines
  • Specify correct equipment and labour for each job
  • Follow up quotes and move jobs through to confirmation
  • Plan and coordinate works with engineers and suppliers
  • Order equipment and ensure everything is ready ahead of works
  • Act as the main point of contact for the client throughout the job
  • Track progress and ensure jobs are completed properly

What we’re looking for

  • Strong background in audio visual systems (sound, lighting, AV installations)
  • Experience quoting, estimating or specifying technical work
  • Able to understand what a client needs and translate that into a practical solution
  • Good attention to detail, particularly around equipment and labour specification
  • Organised and able to manage multiple jobs at once
  • Comfortable working with systems for quoting, scheduling and communication
  • Confident dealing with clients in a clear, straightforward way
