We are looking for an experienced and passionate Music Programmer with a focus on Classical music to join Spotify’s Music team in London. You will identify and curate first rate music playlist listening experiences using all available Classical content on the platform (Frontline and Catalogue), including leanback experiences covering a broad array of moods, moments and instruments. You demonstrate a passion for performance-oriented analytics and strategic thinking and you have your ear to the ground in the Classical music community.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and substantiate playlists hypotheses for classical music, relating to specific moods, moments and activities.
- Curate and maintain a large number of classical music playlists, for a global audience.
- Review catalogues of music across a multitude of Classical genres and evaluate programming potential.
- Drive the Classical music strategy at Spotify.
- Stay up to date with trends and culture, and translate them to compelling music propositions.
- Using quantitative and qualitative data, analyse and understand consumer behaviour especially pertaining to mood and moments programming.
- Work with our Global Editorial Team, and other cross-functional teams in the company, to progress towards various content objectives.
Who You Are
- 3+ years experience in music curation and/or programming in the music or entertainment industry, with a clear focus on Classical music.
- The ideal candidate has a deep knowledge of historical and contemporary Classical music and culture.
- The ideal candidate is able to lean on a good reputation and a strong network within the Classical music industry, particularly in Europe.
- The ideal candidate can demonstrate a passion for bringing Classical music to new audiences.
- The ideal candidate has in-depth knowledge of music composition and instrumentation.
- Ability and willingness to work with and respond to data and analytics.
Where You’ll Be
This role is based in London. We offer you the flexibility to work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home. We ask that you come in 2-3 times per week.
