We focus on awareness, acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization strategies that help users unlock the full value of Spotify while enabling the business to scale efficiently and responsibly.
About the Team
This role sits at the heart of the Subscriptions Mission and owns how users move through the freemium funnel - from the moment a free user encounters Premium value, through trial, conversion, activation, and into long‑term retention. You'll partner closely with product, design, marketing, finance, pricing & packaging, and regional commercial teams to shape the end‑to‑end subscriber journey across plans and markets.
What You’ll Do
- Own the product strategy and roadmap for the freemium‑to‑Premium funnel, improving conversion, trial‑to‑paid, ARPU, and long‑term retention.
- Shape subscription plans and portfolio in partnership with Pricing & Packaging, including tiers, durations, and regional pricing strategies.
- Lead discovery, design, and delivery of subscriber‑facing features from concept through global rollout.
- Run lifecycle and monetization experiments across trials, win‑back, upgrades, payment recovery, and retention flows.
- Translate behavioral and revenue data into hypotheses, define success metrics, and drive a prioritized experimentation roadmap.
- Design and evaluate A/B experiments, scaling solutions that deliver measurable impact.
- Balance trade‑offs across user value, revenue impact, and operational complexity.
- Partner with Finance, BizOps, and regional teams to localize plans, offers, and messaging.
- Communicate strategy, results, and trade‑offs clearly to senior stakeholders.
Qualifications
- You have 5+ years of product management experience delivering customer‑facing products at scale.
- You have strong experience working with subscription or monetization models.
- You think in funnels and cohorts, connecting product decisions to business outcomes like retention and revenue.
- You are comfortable designing and interpreting experiments and using data to guide decisions.
- You have experience working across global markets and understand how to balance consistency with localization.
- You bring strong judgment when making product and prioritization trade‑offs.
- You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams.
- You are curious, adaptable, and comfortable working in ambiguous environments.
