Engineering Manager - Core Infrastructure

The Platform team creates the technology that enables Spotify to learn quickly and scale easily, enabling rapid growth in our users and our business around the globe. Spanning many disciplines, we work to make the business work; creating the infrastructure, tooling, frameworks, and capabilities needed to welcome a billion customers. You’ll join the Core Infrastructure studio within Spotify’s Platform mission, specifically the Manifesto squad. This team builds and evolves the foundational infrastructure that powers Spotify at scale—helping hundreds of engineers ship faster, more reliably, and with confidence.

You’ll lead a team working on critical systems that enable resilience, performance, and developer productivity across the company.

• Lead, support, and grow a team of engineers working on core infrastructure systems used across Spotify.
• Set clear direction and priorities, balancing long-term platform investments with immediate product needs.
• Partner closely with product, engineering, and cross-functional leaders to shape infrastructure strategy.
• Drive technical excellence, reliability, and scalability across distributed systems.
• Foster a healthy, inclusive, and collaborative team environment where people can do their best work.
• Support engineers in their development through coaching, feedback, and career growth conversations.
• Help evolve engineering practices, ways of working, and operational maturity across the studio.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and knowledge sharing.

• You have experience leading and developing engineering teams in a complex, distributed environment.
• You are comfortable working with large-scale systems, cloud infrastructure, and platform technologies.
• You know how to balance technical depth with people leadership and team health.
• You have experience partnering with product and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver impact.
• You care about building inclusive teams and creating an environment where everyone can thrive.
• You are experienced in driving delivery while maintaining high standards for quality and reliability.
• You communicate clearly and bring people together around shared goals.
• You have a thoughtful approach to decision-making, trade-offs, and prioritization.

This role is based in Stockholm or London. We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in-person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
