We design Spotify's consumer experience — end to end, moment to moment, across every screen, platform, and partner integration. Our mission is to make listening feel effortless, personal, and joyful for billions of users around the world. That means turning complexity into clarity across hundreds of touchpoints — from our mobile and desktop apps to the smart speakers, TVs, cars, and integrations where Spotify shows up every day. If it touches a consumer, we shape it. We bring deep insight into human behavior, design, and technology to craft experiences that feel intuitive, expressive, and unmistakably Spotify.

Platform & Partner Experience (PPX) sits within the Experience Mission, shaping how Spotify shows up across devices, platforms, and partner ecosystems. We build the foundations that power seamless integrations — from smart speakers to cars to AI agents — while ensuring every interaction feels personal, reliable, and unmistakably Spotify.

As a Senior Staff Engineer, you'll advance how our systems power partner experiences at scale, tackling complex challenges that span teams, systems and organizational boundaries. You will work closely with platform, infrastructure, and product teams across the company to create shared foundations, streamline our architecture and unlock new experiences for our users and partners.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the technical strategy, architecture, and development of systems that enable and enhance partner and platform experiences across devices and integrations.
  • Drive complex technical initiatives that span multiple studios or a full mission — particularly where coordination cost, architectural sprawl, or competing local optimizations are part of the problem.
  • Create leverage by unifying fragmented approaches, retiring duplicative systems, and establishing the standards and platforms that enable multiple studios to move faster without reinventing foundations — judging where consolidation creates leverage and where local autonomy is the better choice.
  • Define and influence technical strategy across organizational boundaries and bring other senior engineers along in executing it.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product and design leaders across the Experience Mission and beyond to identify shared opportunities, align technical direction and reduce duplication.
  • Shape how AI transforms the software development lifecycle and pioneer AI-native workflows and capabilities that bridge engineering, product, and design.

Who You Are

  • You have deep experience designing, building and operating distributed systems that serve users at scale.
  • You have a strong track record of technical leadership — influencing and shaping architecture decisions across teams, and driving organizational change in how software gets built.
  • You thrive in complex, ambiguous problem spaces and can identify where technical investment will create the greatest leverage across teams and systems.
  • You care deeply about reliable, high-quality user experiences powered by data and personalization.
  • You actively explore how AI reshapes how we build, not just what we build, and can turn emerging capabilities into practical improvements in how teams work.
  • You bring a thoughtful, collaborative, inclusive mindset and actively contribute to a positive team culture.

Where You Will Be

We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best. For this role, you can be based anywhere in EMEA where Spotify has a work location (excluding France due to on-call restrictions). The team collaborates within Central European and GMT time zones.

Extensive learning opportunities, through our dedicated team, GreenHouse. Flexible share incentives letting you choose how you share in our success. Global parental leave, six months off - for all new parents. All The Feels, our employee assistance program and self-care hub. Flexible public holidays, swap days off according to your values and beliefs.
