We design Spotify's consumer experience—end to end, moment to moment, across every screen, platform, and partner integration. Our mission is to make listening feel effortless, personal, and joyful for users around the world. That means turning complexity into clarity across hundreds of touchpoints—from our mobile and desktop apps to the smart speakers, TVs, cars, and integrations where Spotify shows up every day. If it touches a consumer, we shape it. We bring deep insight into human behavior, design, and technology to craft experiences that feel intuitive, expressive, and unmistakably Spotify.
We're looking for mid-level to senior product designers with strong visual design skills to join the team focusing on the core mobile experience. This team works on some of the most essential parts of the Spotify experience that shapes some of Spotify's most iconic and emotionally resonant experiences - the features that help people connect with music, organize their libraries, and engage more deeply with what they love. You might be designing how users share and discover music with friends, how they create, customise and manage playlists, or whether it's evolving how users organize their music, creating new ways to share audio socially, or integrating AI to help users find their next favourite song. You will work on the products that define the Core Spotify experience.
It's a high-impact, fast-moving space where priorities evolve as we explore new ways to bring users closer to the content they care about. As a designer here, you'll have the opportunity to shape foundational experiences that millions of people use every day. This is a role for a designer who thrives on variety, moves quickly, and wants to see their work impact millions of listeners across multiple surfaces.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the design quality of high-priority features across the team's portfolio, moving between projects as product strategies evolve.
- Apply Spotify's design principles to generate thoughtful, user-centered solutions grounded in clear problem statements, constraints, and team goals.
- Design across core Spotify surfaces that drive long-term engagement, retention, and user satisfaction.
- Work on a range of experiences—from social sharing to playlist curation and library organization—adapting as priorities evolve.
- Frame design problems clearly by defining user needs, success criteria, constraints, and tradeoffs.
- Explore multiple concepts and directions, knowing when to go deep and when to pivot based on insights and feedback.
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, research, and data partners to bring ideas to life.
- Leverage AI-powered tools to explore ideas, synthesize insights, prototype, and improve design efficiency and quality.
- Take ownership of the end-to-end design process, from early exploration through to final execution and iteration.
- Contribute to the broader design community by sharing work, feedback, and learnings.
Who You Are
- You have experience designing mobile consumer products and can contribute independently to end-to-end design work.
- You know how to craft thoughtful interaction design, information architecture, and user journeys.
- You are comfortable working across ambiguity and can balance multiple product areas or shifting priorities.
- You care about understanding user needs and grounding your decisions in research and data.
- You have experience designing for mobile platforms and understand iOS and Android conventions.
- You are curious about personalization, AI, and how intelligent systems shape user experiences and trust.
- You communicate your design decisions clearly and can connect user needs to product outcomes.
- You enjoy collaborating with cross-functional partners and actively seek feedback to improve your work.
- You are comfortable using AI-enabled tools as part of your workflow.
- You have a portfolio that demonstrates your design process, thinking, and impact.
