The Rights Systems team at Spotify is developing the technical foundations to enable new content distribution methods across the platform. This involves detecting rights-protected intellectual property and managing rights holders and creators of both protected and secondary content. The team will collaborate with various departments to create and present innovative content datasets to users. As the product grows, the team will expand to cover broader use cases and a larger user base, becoming a key part of Spotify’s video strategy. The team is expected to grow from a single squad to a dedicated product area over the next 2-5 years.
This role is a founding member of a squad focused on Rights data, establishing a new domain within Spotify’s data landscape that will serve as the authoritative source for IP rights ownership of platform content.
What You'll Do- Build and launch backend services and data pipelines to support a new rights database that acts as a source of truth for Spotify.
- Collaborate with product, insights, design, and engineering teams to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
- Deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable backend code.
- Maintain data pipelines supporting the Rights ecosystem.
- Provide timely technical solutions to business needs.
- Promote modern, agile software development practices within the team.
- Coordinate with external teams to enhance consumer video experiences on Spotify.
