Based around Weston super Mare and covering client sites across the UK, this is a hands-on role offering around £30,000 plus a company van for the right person, with full training available for someone bringing strong practical skills and the right work ethic.

A2M Safety has worked in height safety for over a decade, designing, installing and maintaining fall protection and access systems for businesses across construction, industrial and commercial environments. From lifelines and anchor points to guardrails, ladders and safe access systems, the team provides complete solutions from initial design through to installation, inspection and ongoing maintenance.

Joining a close-knit team, you'll spend much of your time out on site installing, inspecting, maintaining and repairing fall protection and safe access systems. You'll work from technical drawings, complete site inspections and reports, identify issues and make sure every job is completed safely and to the required standard. The company brief also confirms that regular UK travel and occasional overnight stays form part of the position.

Previous fall protection experience would be useful, but it is not essential. A2M is open to someone from a practical background who is comfortable using tools, solving problems and getting stuck into physical work. You could currently be working as a mechanic, installer, maintenance technician, construction operative or in another skilled manual role and be looking to build a career in height safety. Training will be provided, including development towards NVQ Level 2.

To qualify:

  • You should be a Safety Technician, Safety Installer, Maintenance Technician, Mechanic, Site Installer or similarly practical professional with a CV that demonstrates:
    • Strong hands-on skills and confidence using tools and equipment
    • A reliable work ethic and willingness to take responsibility on site
    • Practical problem-solving skills and good attention to detail
    • The ability and willingness to work safely at height
    • Confidence working as part of a small team, typically in teams of two
    • Good communication skills when dealing with colleagues and clients
    • A full UK driving licence
    • Flexibility to travel throughout the UK and stay away when required

Experience with fall protection, working at height, construction, installation or maintenance is advantageous, but attitude, practical ability and reliability matter just as much. In return, you can expect a salary around £30,000, a company van for the right person, structured training and the opportunity to develop specialist qualifications within the height safety industry. Following successful completion of the six-month probation period, you'll also gain access to the wider Kee benefits package. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work and wants to turn those skills into a long-term specialist career.
