A Manufacturing Engineer / Manufacturing Integration Engineer is needed to join GT Wings, an ambitious engineering led CleanTech company developing AirWing, a wind propulsion system designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions in commercial shipping. GT Wings is moving from prototype builds to global production. AirWing systems are manufactured by specialist subcontractors rather than in house factories. That means the company must retain deep control of how the product is built, even when production happens thousands of miles away.
This role sits at the critical junction between design and delivery. You will act as the bridge between engineering and outsourced manufacturing, ensuring AirWing can be built consistently, efficiently and to the highest quality standards by global partners. This is not a desk based documentation role. It is hands on, factory facing and commercially important. You will travel internationally for extended periods, particularly across Asia, supporting early production runs, resolving build challenges and ensuring design intent is fully understood on the shop floor.
You will translate engineering outputs into practical manufacturing processes, structured documentation and inspection frameworks. You will capture and formalise manufacturing knowledge so production can scale across multiple factories without loss of capability. You will feed real world insights back into engineering to strengthen design for manufacture and support production scale up.
To qualify: You should be a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, Supplier Development Engineer, Industrialisation Engineer or similar with a CV that demonstrates:
- Experience within manufacturing or production engineering environments
- Exposure to subcontract or supplier based manufacturing models
- Strong design for manufacture capability
- Experience supporting production scale up from prototype to volume
- Confidence working hands on in factory environments
- Ability to create clear, structured manufacturing documentation
- Knowledge of quality systems and inspection processes
- Willingness to travel internationally for extended periods
Backgrounds in aerospace, automotive, marine, offshore, heavy engineering, steel fabrication, composites or renewable energy will transfer well. Mandarin language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
Working closely with Engineering, Subcontract Management and Commissioning teams, you will help define how AirWing is built globally as the company moves into volume production, therefore you must be comfortable operating across cultures and representing GT Wings with credibility and authority in front of global manufacturing partners.
In return, you will join a mission driven engineering company at a pivotal stage of growth. Expect a salary of £50k to £70k (depending on experience), excellent benefits, meaningful responsibility, international exposure and the opportunity to play a defining role in scaling a breakthrough clean maritime technology.
