A Freelance CRM Solutions Engineer is needed to join The Legal Director, a scaling B2B legal services firm entering a critical stage of operational maturity. Working directly with the leadership team, this is a high impact project role focused on reviewing, redesigning and rebuilding the systems that underpin the commercial engine. This is not a standard CRM admin brief. It sits at the intersection of systems architecture, product thinking, operational design and hands on technical delivery.

You will assess the current environment, untangle technical debt, and design a future state that is commercially practical, scalable and aligned to how the business actually works. The Legal Director provides fractional legal support to SMEs through a flexible model that combines a core team with a large network of freelance lawyers. As the business grows, the need for clarity across pipeline tracking, workflow management, reporting and integrations has become critical.

Joining as the Freelance CRM Solutions Engineer, you will conduct a full audit of the current CRM and systems landscape. This includes reviewing customisations, workflows, integrations and underlying logic, identifying inefficiencies and technical blockers, and mapping operational dependencies. From there, you will work closely with leadership to define requirements and shape a clear technical roadmap. A key part of the brief is advising whether to optimise Microsoft Dynamics or migrate to a more flexible platform such as Zoho CRM. Your remit is to bring objectivity, technical depth and commercial pragmatism to that decision.

This is a hands on project role. You will design scalable CRM architecture, build or reconfigure workflows and automations, support data migration and cleansing, improve MI visibility and funnel tracking, and create robust API integrations with third party systems. You must be comfortable moving between developer level conversations and strategic discussions with non technical stakeholders.

To qualify: You may currently operate as a CRM Solutions Engineer, CRM Architect, Technical CRM Consultant, Systems Architect, RevOps Engineer or similar, with a CV that demonstrates:

  • Strong experience in CRM development, backend configuration and customisation
  • Proven systems architecture and integration expertise, including APIs and webhooks
  • Confidence reviewing existing codebases and technical dependencies
  • Experience leading technical discovery and solution design
  • Hands on exposure to Microsoft Dynamics and Zoho CRM
  • Experience with data migration, relational data structures and SQL concepts
  • Ability to translate business requirements into structured technical delivery plans
  • Experience working directly with senior stakeholders in scaling organisations
  • Exposure to Salesforce, HubSpot, Power BI or wider analytics tooling is beneficial but not essential.

This is a freelance, project based, remote contract with occasional London working sessions alongside the senior leadership team. The brief requires someone capable of operating autonomously, bringing clarity to complexity and embedding structure that will support long term growth.

In return, you will work at the centre of a scaling professional services business where your impact will be visible across sales, operations and leadership decision making. Daily or hourly rate is currently being finalised.
