An Office Manager / Senior Office Administrator is needed to join Manders Building & Civil Engineering, a close knit construction business delivering projects across the region. Based in a busy, practical office environment, this is a hands on role for someone confident enough to take real ownership and keep the wheels turning.
With seven office staff and around twenty engineers on site, Manders needs a capable office professional who can manage the day to day running of operations without constant direction. You will oversee emails and calls, manage works diaries and schedules, distribute job documentation, and ensure managers are kept informed of anything urgent or sensitive.
Beyond core admin, you will support tenders, prepare purchase orders and quotations, job cost invoices and liaise with Accounts using WORMS and Sage. You will coordinate subcontractor competencies, training and right to work checks, maintain compliance records, oversee vehicle documentation, support audits with HSEQ and keep document registers fully up to date. There is also a strong systems focus.
You will be confident using Office 365 and Excel, comfortable learning new software and able to troubleshoot day to day IT issues. Over time, you will help streamline processes and bring structure to a growing construction business that values efficiency and accountability.
To qualify
- You should be an experienced Office Manager, Senior Office Administrator or Office Coordinator with a CV that demonstrates:
- Proven experience running a busy office, ideally within construction or engineering
- Confidence dealing with managers, engineers and subcontractors
- Strong IT literacy including Office 365 and Excel
- Experience supporting compliance, documentation and audits
- The ability to prioritise, stay calm under pressure and work independently
- A proactive, can do attitude with strong attention to detail
In return, you will join a family orientated, down to earth company where your role genuinely matters. Expect a varied position with real responsibility, a supportive team and a salary of £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience.
