Salary: £27,000-£29,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

About the role

SportsShoes are looking for a Marketing Executive (France) to support the growth of our French market, reporting into the International Marketing Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, commercially minded marketer who enjoys working across different areas of marketing, is confident in communicating with others, and wants hands-on experience across content, social media, influencers and e-commerce marketing.

You may already have 1-2 years’ marketing experience, but we’re equally interested in someone with the right attitude, curiosity and potential to develop. You’ll be naturally curious about new marketing trends and the French sports, running and outdoor market, think for yourself and enjoy understanding the 'why' behind what you’re doing. You’ll take ownership of assigned projects and campaigns from brief through to delivery, keeping track of deadlines, identifying potential issues early and proactively communicating solutions or asking for support when needed.

You’ll be comfortable asking questions, challenging ideas constructively and suggesting ways to improve how we work. You’ll be interested in understanding the French market, researching customers and competitors, and using those insights to help shape effective marketing activity. You’ll be comfortable evaluating marketing activity, challenging what isn’t working and suggesting ways to improve outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop the French influencer and brand ambassador network, including product seeding
  • Coordinate with brand managers, social teams, and creative teams to plan and deliver launch activity and campaigns for the French market
  • Brief creative teams and support social media content production
  • Write high-quality French copy across multiple channels
  • Maintain and update French website content using a CMS, including web testing and QA
  • Support organic social media activity and post coordination
  • Apply SEO best practices, including link building and content optimisation
  • Support email marketing campaigns and execution
  • Participate confidently in meetings and presentations with external stakeholders, influencers, and partners
  • Build and maintain strong, natural relationships with French influencers and ambassadors, from initial outreach and product seeding through to ongoing communication and campaign delivery.
  • Assist the International Marketing Manager with planning, coordinating and executing campaigns and content creation in France, for instance local marathon or trail running campaigns.
  • Identifying new opportunities in the French market and monitoring competitor activity
  • Manage and allocate budget correctly
  • Assist with tracking and reporting on campaign performance.
  • Regularly review and refine AI-translated French Product Detail Page copy, using your French language and marketing knowledge to ensure the final copy is accurate, natural and appropriate for the French market.

About You

  • French speaker: Native or fluent French speaker with excellent written and spoken skills
  • Experience: Ideally up to 2 years experience in a similar marketing role. Some previous experience in marketing, e-commerce, social media, content, influencer marketing or a related environment is desirable, but we’re open to candidates at an earlier stage of their career who can demonstrate the right skills, attitude and potential.
  • Talented Copywriter: Strong copywriting skills with attention to tone and detail
  • Marketing All-rounder: Working knowledge of areas such as CMS platforms, SEO, organic social, email marketing and/or paid media
  • Commercially Curious: You have a good understanding of e-commerce fundamentals and look beyond simply completing a task. You want to understand its purpose, customer impact and commercial value, as well as what drives performance.
  • Organised Multi-Tasker: Strong organisation and time management, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks, manage deadlines and communicate early when priorities or timings need to change.
  • Confident Communicator: Comfortable communicating with internal and external stakeholders in both English and French, whether by email, messaging, meetings, presentations or calls. You’re willing to speak up, share your ideas and build natural professional relationships.
  • Relationship Builder: Naturally comfortable building relationships with different people and able to communicate in an authentic, friendly and professional way.
  • Mad about Sport: You have a genuine interest in running, sport and/or the outdoors.
  • Microsoft Office literate: Comfortable using Word, Excel and PowerPoint and similar applications.
  • Self-Starter: Able to work independently once a task or objective is clear, while knowing when to ask questions, seek guidance or escalating an issue.
  • Proactive Problem-Solver: You take ownership of your work and proactively keep things moving. If something is unclear, delayed or not going to plan, you flag it early, consider your options and take action to move things forward.
  • Natural Explorer: You’re naturally curious, ask questions and seek to understand how and why things work rather than simply following instructions.
  • Team Player: You bring a positive, collaborative attitude to the workplace and enjoy building relationships across the wider business. You contribute to meetings and discussions, share your ideas and are happy to get involved rather than simply sit back and listen. You’re responsive and reliable in day-to-day communication, keeping colleagues informed about progress, priorities and new learnings.
  • Open to Feedback: You respond positively to feedback, and are willing to adapt your approach and see mistakes or challenges as opportunities to learn.

Education (Preferred)

  • A degree or relevant qualification in Marketing, Business, International Relations, Sports Marketing or a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
  • Must reside in the UK and have the right to work in the UK
  • Exposure to international e-commerce and influencer marketing
