London Marathon Events are looking for an experienced communications professional to join their team for the 2022 season.
The role is varied and will suit someone with a range of media and communications skills with a particular focus on PR and outreach, so a good contacts book across national, lifestyle and sport media is essential.
It also requires someone who is comfortable leading the LME comms team in the organisation of Swim Serpentine.
You will also be part of the team for RideLondon, The Big Half and the TCS London Marathon where you will be happy to support the communications team in the planning, delivery and promotion of these events.
The job starts on Monday April 18 and ends on Sunday October 14 2022

To support communications team in the delivery of RideLondon 2022. Tasks will include:
- PR outreach – pitching and placing stories to broadcast, print and digital media
- Writing press releases and content for LME platforms
- Supporting communications team with media operations delivery for RideLondon 2022
The Big Half (Sunday 4 September)
To support communications team in the planning and delivery of The Big Half 2022. Tasks will include:
- PR outreach – pitching and placing stories to broadcast, print and digital media
- Writing press releases and content for LME platforms
- Support with celebrity and media entries
- Support engagement of a wide range of media to attend on Event Day
- Supporting communications team with media operations delivery for The Big Half 2022
To be the communications team lead on Swim Serpentine. Tasks will include:
- Working alongside social and content teams to create an integrated comms strategy for 2022 Swim Serpentine
- Identifying the best human interest and celebrity stories and pitching and placing these to broadcast, print and digital media
- Produce press releases and media guide for event day
- Creating film and photo briefs for the day
- Lead on engaging a wide range of media to attend on event day
- Leading media operations for event day
TCS London Marathon (2 Oct 2022)
To support communications team in the planning and delivery of TCS London Marathon 2022. Tasks will include:
- PR outreach – pitching and placing stories
- Support with celebrity and media entries
- Support media opportunities and press announcements
- Supporting media operations during marathon week and marathon day
