Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Technical Artist to join the Art & Animation team at Sports Interactive. The role focuses on driving technical excellence across the department by improving workflows, developing scalable solutions, and supporting the creation of high‑quality visuals and content pipelines. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between Art and Engineering, shaping workflows, improving pipelines, mentoring teammates, and delivering technical improvements that have lasting impact across the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and solve complex technical challenges across the Art & Animation team.
- Improve production workflows, graphical quality, and overall development efficiency.
- Work closely with Artists, Animators, Graphics Programmers, Engineers, Technical Directors, and Production to optimise pipelines and support cross‑disciplinary delivery.
- Drive improvements across content pipelines, workflows, tools, and technical processes.
- Develop and maintain scalable technical solutions that improve efficiency and quality.
- Support shader development, rendering workflows, procedural systems, and runtime implementation.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and propose optimisation solutions.
- Collaborate with Graphics and Engineering teams to align artistic goals with technical constraints.
- Support the development of tools, automation, and pipeline improvements across Art & Animation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Technical Artists and adjacent disciplines.
- Support sprint planning, retrospectives, and cross‑discipline delivery discussions.
- Help define and maintain Technical Art standards and best practices.
- Clearly communicate technical concepts and workflows to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Strong Technical Art fundamentals with experience across multiple technical areas.
- Advanced experience in at least two Technical Art areas such as shaders, rendering, procedural workflows, scripting, optimisation, VFX, rigging, animation, tools, or content pipelines.
- Unity experience.
- Ability to solve technical problems and improve production workflows at both team and project scale.
- Understanding of balancing visual quality, technical limitations, usability, and runtime performance.

- Clear communication with both technical and non‑technical disciplines.
- Effective collaboration across Art, Animation, Graphics, Engineering, and Production teams.
- Organised, self‑driven, and capable of managing complex technical initiatives independently.
Desirable
- Proactive identification of improvement opportunities and driving change.
- Comfortable mentoring others and raising technical standards across the team.
- Positive contribution to team culture through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback.
- Motivation to continuously learn, improve, and shape the future direction of Technical Art within the project.
