The gaming studio behind: ⚽ Football Manager. Founded in 1994, Sports Interactive became a wholly owned subsidiary of SEGA Europe in 2006. Based at the Here East technology hub in Stratford, East London, the SI team continues to expand as we bring our titles to an ever-growing audience across an increasing variety of platforms.

Position Overview:

Football Manager Mobile is the fastest way to play the genre‑leading FM series, offering a lightweight, pick‑up‑and‑play football management simulation experience for those on the move or with less time on their hands. Over the coming seasons, we will be moving from an in‑house engine to Unity. One aspect of this will be revamping the User Interface to take advantage of the new engine, and we are looking for a talented UIUX designer on a fixed‑term contract to be a key member of the team designing this interface. You will join a small, dedicated, and close‑knit team within SI, collaborating with creatives, software engineers, QA and producers to ensure we deliver a visually appealing, high‑fidelity and usable on‑the‑go mobile experience for our passionate userbase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with UIUX and Game Designers and our Game Director to develop visually appealing new features or fresh interpretations of existing ones.
  • Produce UI designs, deliverables and assets of a consistently high quality.
  • Communicate your work through user flows, wireframing, and high‑fidelity mock‑ups.
  • Assist in reviewing designs of external contractors.
  • Collaborate with the design team across the rest of the studio to gain and offer peer feedback and share learnings between projects.
  • Work with QA, Production and Development to help ensure designs are well‑understood, usable, and that needs of other disciplines are considered.
  • Assist team members in evaluating design success, using techniques such as analytics, user feedback, in‑house playtesting, and taking part where appropriate in usability testing.
  • Be a passionate member of the FM Mobile Team, driving your own growth and lending your expertise to further the team’s collective knowledge.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Strong understanding of UI and UX design principles.
  • Ability to produce high quality, visually appealing UI deliverables.
  • Experience with visual design software such as Figma and Miro, and of working with design systems.
  • Experience creating prototypes, wireframes and developing user flows.
  • Motivated to understand and meet the needs of the user.
  • 3+ years professional UI/UX design experience within software production or similar.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to both creative and non‑creative disciplines – both verbally and in writing - and tell stories throughout the design process.
  • The ability to deliver in volume when necessary.
  • Self‑motivated with a drive to improve yourself and others.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a close‑knit team.
  • Knowledge of and interest in football.
  • Have worked on at least one completed video game title.
  • Knowledge of the gaming industry on a broad level.
  • Experience of designing specifically for Mobile platforms.
  • Experience in Unity.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS or similar.
  • Basic understanding of Accessibility settings in games.
