We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Inspection Team Leader to play a key role within our Quality Assurance function. Working at the heart of a high-performance motorsport environment, you will lead the mechanical inspection team to ensure that internally and externally manufactured components meet exacting quality and design standards. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise, clear communication, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the Mechanical Inspection department, ensuring efficient delivery in line with business demands.
- Carry out detailed inspections using advanced metrology equipment and software.
- Act as a central point of contact for quality matters across Inspection, Manufacturing, Procurement, Design, and the wider supply chain.
- Define, introduce, and maintain quality procedures, processes, and documentation to ensure full compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement in inspection reporting, including standardisation of AMR reporting to provide accurate, consistent data to Design.
- Ensure all deviations and non-conformances are accurately recorded, communicated, and addressed to prevent recurrence.
- Support and develop team capability by identifying training needs and ensuring competency levels are maintained.
- Proactively participate in meetings and contribute to cross-functional problem solving.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of manufacturing processes, inspection techniques, and industry best practice.
- Work professionally and responsibly within the company reporting structure, undertaking additional duties aligned to the role as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a QA Team Leader (or similar) within Formula One or high-level motorsport is highly desirable.
- Proficient in CMM operations with working knowledge of Pc-Dmis and Polyworks.
- Excellent working knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, manufacturing processes, and GD.
