We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Inspector to join our Quality Assurance department on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract working on a night shift. In this critical role, you will ensure the precision and quality of internally manufactured machined components and associated assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Assure the quality of internally and externally manufactured metallic components to the required standards.
- Carry out inspection and verification activities using advanced metrology equipment and software.
- Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance, Production Control, and the Machine Shop to maintain and improve quality standards.
- Proactively participate in team and departmental meetings.
- Work professionally, responsibly, and flexibly to meet production and quality targets.
- Undertake any additional tasks reasonably requested in line with the role.
- Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining accuracy and composure.
- Flexible approach to working hours to meet the demands of the role.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across departments.
- Commitment to Health & Safety and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent working knowledge of machining processes and manufacturing methods.
- Proficient in Pc-DMIS and PolyWorks Metrology Suites.
- Hands‑on experience with CMMs, Absolute Arms, Shadowgraphs, Contour Tracers, and handheld measuring tools.
- Ability to confidently interpret and work from technical drawings.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of machining processes, inspection techniques, and quality systems.
- Experience using MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, SAP, or similar.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Previous experience in a Formula One or high‑level motorsport environment is highly desirable.
