About the Company - The Trading team are responsible for pricing and trading all aspects of a range of different sports and events. The trading team is made up of approximately 80 traders, reporting into a Head of Function/Head of Sport. The overall team is headed up by the Head of Trading Operations.

About the Role - Reporting to the Senior Trader, the Junior Trader will be responsible for specifically targeted at ‘in-play trading’ and ‘market monitoring’ but encompasses all stages of the market life-cycle including quality assurance at each stage of the process in order to maximise revenues and minimise client contacts.

Responsibilities - The main responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Trading on a variety of events across a number of sports, with a specific focus on high volume trading.
  • Preparing trading models for in-play events through accurate entry of pricing variables using the underlying market as a basis.
  • Providing timely manipulation of trading models/platforms and monitoring of market conditions to maintain accurate pre-match outputs for both in-play and non-live events.
  • Ensuring accurate entry of in-play match data for in-play events.
  • Analysing and recording trading performance for future reference and performance management.
  • Maintaining a multitude of databases relating to the relevant sports and competitions.
  • Having awareness of wholesale client requirements depending on sport/jurisdiction/market liquidity.
  • Reporting on model/pricing/feed provider issues to Senior Trading team.
  • Communicating with Front Line Support and Risk departments during trading to ensure accurate and efficient service is provided to all clients.
  • Gaining a basic working knowledge and understanding of all Sporting Solutions systems and processes to maximise trading efficiency.
  • Successfully completing all internal and external training courses where applicable.

Qualifications - Excellent attention to detail, an ability to effectively manage workloads and follow tasks to a resolution, a willingness to work unsociable hours including evenings and weekends, an interest or knowledge of spread betting, database/coding skills, and a quantitative degree or similar.
