Professional Sports Club in the Midlands is seeking a Head of Venue Sales. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded leader who wants more than just a steady inbox. The Role
You will take full ownership of the venue's non-matchday commercial function, reporting directly into senior leadership. This includes driving revenue across conferences, corporate hospitality, exhibitions, concerts, and large-scale events, while building the team, strategy, and pipeline to ensure sustainable growth.
What You'll Be Doing
- Developing and delivering a commercial strategy that grows non-matchday revenue year on year
- Identifying and securing new business across corporate, leisure, and live event markets
- Leading and developing the venue sales team
- Building and managing relationships with clients, promoters, agents, local authorities, and commercial partners
- Overseeing CRM, pipeline management, forecasting, and commercial reporting
- Working closely with operations, marketing, catering, and finance to ensure quality delivery
- Bringing new event concepts and commercial products to life
- Keeping the CEO and Chairman informed with regular commercial updates and recommendations
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Proven commercial leadership experience in a venue, stadium, hospitality, conferencing, or large-scale events setting
- A solid track record of revenue growth and winning high-value commercial opportunities
- Experience building and leading commercial teams
- Financial acumen across forecasting, pricing, and margin management
- Strong networking and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to negotiate at a senior level
- Driven, entrepreneurial, and comfortable being the face of a major venue brand
Desirable:
- Experience across multi-purpose venues covering conferences, concerts, exhibitions, and sport
- Familiarity with CRM systems and digital sales tools
- A background in developing new event concepts or commercial products
- Degree in business, marketing, hospitality, sports management, or a related field - though relevant experience counts for plenty here
