Sporting Jobs are partnering with a specialist sports technology company behind a market-leading fan engagement platform, helping leading sport and entertainment organisations enhance how they connect with their audiences. With an established client base across the UK, Ireland and Australasia, the business is now entering an exciting phase of growth as it looks to expand its footprint across European football.
To support this next stage, we are seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to help drive commercial growth and build strategic relationships with football clubs, leagues and rights holders across Europe. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in scaling an innovative technology platform within the football industry, working with senior decision-makers across some of the most prominent organisations in the sport. The successful candidate will join the company’s senior leadership team based in the United Kingdom. This is a full-time role (subject to probation) offering a competitive salary and benefits package, alongside a hybrid home/office working model.
Key Responsibilities- Driving Revenue & Growth
- Deliver against ambitious sales targets while helping to shape the company’s commercial growth strategy.
- Identify and secure new partnerships with football clubs, leagues and governing bodies across Europe.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to win new business and expand existing client relationships.
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline from lead generation through to deal closure.
- Identify, research and pursue new opportunities within the football and wider sports ecosystem.
- Develop trusted, long-term relationships with senior stakeholders across the industry.
- Lead commercial negotiations and close high-value strategic deals.
- Support and mentor junior commercial team members, contributing to a high-performance sales culture.
- Work closely with marketing, product and leadership teams to align commercial activity with product development and client needs.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities within the football technology landscape.
- Provide regular reporting on pipeline performance, forecasts and strategic opportunities.
- Proven success in a senior business development or commercial sales role, ideally within sport, sports technology or entertainment.
- Strong track record of selling solutions into football clubs, leagues or rights holders.
- Experience developing strategic sales plans and delivering sustainable revenue growth.
- Confident communicator with experience engaging board-level stakeholders.
- Commercially astute, solutions-focused and resilient in fast-paced environments.
- Highly organised, analytical and comfortable managing complex sales cycles.
- A self-starter with integrity, professionalism and a collaborative mindset.
