Location – Wigan/Remote

The Sporting Group is one of the world’s leading names in sports betting technology and trading. The Group employs over 250 staff and its primary division is Sporting Solutions, a rapidly growing B2B operation which supplies real-time pricing and sports trading capabilities to sportsbooks around the globe. This is an opportunity to join the Trading team as a Part Time Junior Trader. You will be part of a team that is responsible for pricing and trading all aspects of a variety of sports and events.

The Role

This role reports to the Senior Trader and is specifically targeted at ‘in-play trading’ and ‘market monitoring’ but encompasses all stages of the market life-cycle including quality assurance at each stage of the process in order to maximise revenues and minimise client contacts. The requirements of our B2B partners must be at the forefront of all trader’s thoughts. This role will include training and trading of a number of key sports and could potentially provide a platform to explore all of the opportunities, including permanent full time roles, the Group has to offer from an entry level position.

We need someone to:

  • Trade a variety of events across a number of sports, with a specific focus on high volume trading
  • Prepare trading models for in‑play events through accurate entry of pricing variables using the underlying market as a basis
  • Provide timely manipulation of trading models/platforms and monitoring of market conditions to maintain accurate pre‑match outputs for both in‑play and non‑live events
  • Ensure accurate entry of in‑play match data for in‑play events
  • Report model/pricing/feed provider issues to Senior Trading team
  • Communicate with Front Line Support and Risk departments during trading to ensure accurate and efficient service is provided to all clients
  • Gain a basic working knowledge and understanding of all Sporting Group systems and processes to maximise trading efficiency
  • Successfully complete all internal and external training courses where applicable
