YOUR NEW JOB…
We are looking for a part-qualified financial accountant who is ready to take the next step in their career in this exciting and varied role. Please note that whilst this role is initially for a 12-month fixed period, there is a strong possibility that it will become permanent.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will support a wide range of financial reporting, tax, and month-end responsibilities across the UK SPORTFIVE business, playing a key role in month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, tax filings, and revenue tracking, while also contributing to cashflow forecasting and supporting financial reporting packs. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to gain broad experience across core financial processes in a fast-paced, international environment.
AS OUR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT, YOU WILL…
- Prepare and post month-end journals across revenue and cost lines
- Reconcile key balance sheet accounts including revenue, VAT, tax, and intercompany
- Support the month-end close process, including use of Lucanet
- Maintain revenue and cost trackers and performing reconciliations against commercial data
- Prepare VAT returns and supporting corporation tax and PSA/QIP payments
- Assist with the preparation of cashflow forecasts
- Support the preparation of sales booking forms and input into Salesforce where required
- Contribute to fixed asset and CAPEX reporting and amortisation tracking
- Assist with timesheet tracking and other finance system data flows
- Work closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Analyst on monthly reporting requirements
WHAT YOU\’LL BRING…
- Actively studying toward an accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Strong technical foundation in finance and accounting principles
- Proven experience in a similar finance role (e.g. assistant accountant, finance officer)
- Good working knowledge of Excel and familiarity with finance systems (e.g. SAP, Lucanet, or similar)
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders and managing competing priorities
- A proactive mindset and a willingness to get involved across the team
- An interest in sport is desirable, but not essential
