Community Coach - Outreach, City in the Community Foundation
Established in 1986, City in the Community is Manchester City’s official charity.
The purpose of this role is to deliver fun, engaging sessions across Community Outreach projects across Greater Manchester including Premier League Kicks, Girls and Disability specific provision.
Programme delivery includes Football and Multisport sessions as well as Youth Work and educational workshops.

- Accountabilities
- Working in partnership with Community Outreach Officer and Lead Coach to support the planning and delivery of a high-quality programme ensuring it provides a fun, structured, enjoyable and safe environment for all participants to develop within.
- Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with key contacts within facilities and delivery partners to sustain long-term partnerships within the community
- Working closely with Lead Coach, Project Officer and Safeguarding Officer to ensure participant needs are being met when at sessions and that interventions are effective.
- Investing in personal development via CITC quality assurance procedures and staff CPD opportunities when they present themselves to increase effectiveness personally and professionally.
- Ensuring that CITC’s Safeguarding policy and procedures are embedded to the highest standard across the team.
Work to ensure that safeguarding practices and principles are adhered to, ensuring our legal and moral obligations towards the framework.
- Ensuring that all CITC and CFG policies and procedures are adhered to across the team, escalating any breaches as appropriate
- Knowledge, skills and experience
- Experience of working with children and young people or various groups within community settings.
- Minimum Level 1 football coaching or youth work qualification.
- Experience of planning and delivering high quality coaching/youth engagement sessions which are challenging and inclusive to the needs of the group.
- A-C GCSE or equivalent in maths and English
- Competent across Microsoft office
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Creative and passionate about continuous improvement
- Resilient and adaptable to change
- Excellent and inclusive team-working abilities
- Level 2 Coaching Certificate in football
- Qualifications in other relevant sports or youth work/mentoring.
- Experience of supporting participants with Disabilities in a football or sporting environment.
- Experience of working in a Youth Work environment with challenging young people
- Educated to degree level in a relevant field (Education, Sports, Community)
- Understanding of City in the Community Foundation and its projects
- Experience and knowledge of working within a brand environment and understanding the responsibilities that are associated with representing a Premier League Football Club
- Experience of building relationships with external organisations and maintaining internal partnerships.
- Full driving licence
- Excellent communication and motivation skills
- Experience of strong behaviour management.
