54 is a sports and entertainment agency operating across five regions and ten offices: United Kingdom (London & Manchester), Europe (Sotogrande, Spain), MENA (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates), APAC (Vietnam, Singapore & Adelaide, Australia) and USA (West Palm Beach, Florida & New York). Strategic Advisory (Consultancy and Data & Insights), 2. Asset Optimisation (Operations and Commercial), 3. Activation & Engagement (Events and Marketing). The Marketing Strategy Account Director will oversee all marketing deliverables for the key events, brand and destination clients internationally, including being responsible for overseeing strategy development and implementation, quality control, department resource requirements, staff development, and key external stakeholder and internal relations. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Global Marketing Senior Leadership Team reporting into the Marketing Director to manage resourcing and meet departmental KPI targets. The role requires passion for the game of golf, and understanding and experience of the sports industry, developing cross-channel marketing campaigns, including event marketing, brand development, sponsorship activation, content generation, social media management and PR & Communications is required. The Marketing Strategy Account Director should also have a talent for developing both campaign strategy and creative ideas and be comfortable working on multiple projects, often with tight deadlines.
Key Roles And Responsibilities
- Event Brand and campaign development β Work with the creative department to develop the look and feel of new event campaigns.
- Develop campaign strategies for events, ensuring consideration of target audiences, identifying appropriate tactics and channels to engage (and where necessary βconvertβ).
- Coordinate a team to ensure that key workstreams are activated and delivered in keeping with pre-agreed timelines.
- Social media and content β Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of content calendars across key platforms.
- Work with internal and external content creators to deliver high-quality assets (video, static, reels, stories, etc.).
- Ensure social media engagement, follower growth, and performance metrics align with campaign goals.
- Use insights and analytics to inform content decisions and platform selection.
- Align storytelling and content output with brand values and campaign objectives.
- Client delivery β The Marketing Strategy, Account Director will lead on the agencyβs key Marketing accounts and will need to ensure the very highest levels of delivery.
- As the account lead, the Marketing Strategy, Account Director will be responsible for the delivery of our services and meeting client KPIs.
- Oversight of services including sales & marketing strategy, PR & comms, advertising, social media management, digital marketing, event activation, content development, research & analysis.
- Stakeholder Relations β Manage work in progress (WIP) documents and delivery of regular reports.
- Oversee the procurement and management of external agencies, when necessary.
- Build trust and support amongst key business leaders and industry stakeholders.
- Partner and stakeholder management β Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure maximum leverage of external channels and ensure objectives are being considered throughout.
- Work with, and across, internal departments to generate shared benefits through the delivery of campaigns.
- Team Liaison β Excellent communication and team player; have strong relations and regular dialogue with all senior managers to ensure solutions to overall departmental objectives are catered for.
- Reporting β Provide concise updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
Special Skills/Experience/Aptitudes Needed
- Knowledge of current trends relating to sports marketing.
- Knowledge of sport, lifestyle and news media internationally.
- Experience working in travel/tourism/destination/event marketing.
- Experience working across the marketing mix and delivering strategic solutions, utilising a range of modern marketing tactics and practices.
- Experience in developing cross-channel campaigns for consumer facing brands or events.
- Ability to deal with information in a confidential manner and respond with sensitivity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a variety of tasks.
- Administrative and IT skills, and an ability to maintain records and produce reports.
- A strong network within the Singapore and global golf/sports industry.
- Be an excellent up-and-down manager.
- Degree level from accredited college or University β preferably in Business, Sports or Marketing.
- Minimum of 7 years of marketing experience.
- Middle East work experience preferred.
