54group is a sports and entertainment agency operating across five regions and ten offices: United Kingdom (London & Manchester), Europe (Sotogrande, Spain), MENA (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates), APAC (Vietnam, Singapore & Adelaide, Australia) and USA (West Palm Beach, Florida & New York). It works with rights holders, governing bodies, household brands and major investors who share its belief in the power of sport. 54 comprises three service areas each consisting of two divisions: 1. Strategic Advisory (Consultancy and Data & Insights), 2. Asset Optimisation (Operations and Commercial), 3. Activation & Engagement (Events and Marketing).

Role Overview

The opportunity exists for a dynamic, motivated and experienced Assistant Event Director to join the 54 team, to oversee the delivery of major events on behalf of 54's international client portfolio. The role will initially focus on the company's golf event portfolio (LIV Golf, Aramco Team Series, International Series), and be responsible for all aspects of Event delivery, including rightsholder, partner and client liaison, budget and project management, production and logistics.

An understanding of the professional golf event ecosystem, its stakeholders, rightsholders and suppliers is an advantage but an ability to navigate and learn about the global golf environment is also sufficient for the role. The events portfolio is expanding into new sports and territories. Experience in producing other major sports events is an advantage.

You must demonstrate extensive international event experience, strong personal motivation, innovative and forward-thinking practices, and be comfortable working remotely as well as at the Company's Head Office in London. As a senior role in the 54 event division, the candidate must have extensive project management experience, with a track record of delivering multiple events successfully within tight and competitive deadlines.

Key Roles And Responsibilities

  • Act as a senior delivery partner to the Event Director, sharing responsibility for the achievement of overarching event objectives.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of event management standard operating procedures.
  • Drive innovative and forward-thinking concepts to maximise commercial and partnership opportunities across projects.
  • Lead the management and performance of suppliers, ensuring rigorous standards, quality control, and continuous improvement in delivery.
  • Take ownership of detailed event budgets, forecasting and cost control, working closely with Event Directors to ensure financial discipline.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients on day-to-day delivery, timelines, and status reporting.
  • Support and deputise for the Event Director in client, rights holder, stakeholder, and internal delivery calls, meetings, and workshops.
  • Own the management and achievement of key client and project milestones, driving accountability across delivery teams.
  • Work in close partnership with Marketing and Commercial teams to maximise opportunities for added value, activation quality, and revenue growth.
  • Support negotiations and delivery of host venue and destination agreements, contracts, and operational requirements.
  • Proactively engage specialists across the Events Division and wider 54 Group to secure new opportunities at the right time and with maximum impact.

Special Skills/Experience Needed

  • Experience within an account management or client services team in an agency environment.
  • Knowledge of the international sports and events industry (desirable).
  • Proven track record managing key international accounts for high-profile brands.
  • Strong understanding of brand, rights holder, and agency ecosystems.
  • Advanced experience creating compelling, tailored presentation decks and proposals.
  • Confident presenter to senior management and external clients.
  • Highly competent in updating, managing, and reporting on live projects and new business pipelines.
