The Media Director will be a key member of the Media Ex Co, driving the strategic direction and execution of SBC’s media initiatives.
- Project Delivery
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and Commercial Director to develop, implement, and oversee new and existing projects within SBC’s media division.
- Partner with the Product division to enhance and expand SBC Media’s digital offerings.
- Provide line management and leadership for the Senior Media Manager & Media Researcher
- Report weekly to the Managing Director on progress, challenges, and key deliverables, leveraging Asana for project planning and tracking.
- Work cross-functionally with other media teams on projects that span multiple departments.
- Conduct feasibility assessments for new projects, including cost-benefit and competitive analysis, resource planning, and KPI recommendations, utilising support from finance and/or business analyst as appropriate.
- Maintain up-to-date records in the company CRM (Hub Spot), ensuring seamless communication across teams, including sales.
- Collaborate with SBC Events teams to align insights from operator and affiliate relationships, improving SBC event strategies.
- Serve as a mentor and role model, offering informal guidance to junior colleagues.
- Media Delivery
- Oversee and manage all media client relationships from contract signing (handover from sales via signed IO) through campaign execution and performance reporting.
- Ensure all client deliverables are met on time, to the highest quality standards, and aligned with client objectives.
- Engage with clients to understand their campaign goals, shaping strategy as needed (content focus, format, etc.).
- Identify upsell opportunities and renewal strategies, working closely with the sales team to drive client retention.
- Collaborate with the Business Insights & Media Operations Manager to define performance metrics at both campaign and overall media levels, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Maintain and optimise supporting systems, including deliverable tracking and ad inventory management.
- Work with finance to ensure joined up systems and alignment of data.
- Lead and develop the Media Delivery team, setting KPIs and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Oversee production & distribution of printed magazines (SBC Leaders/Affiliate Leaders/Canadian Gaming Business) by liaising with magazine editors, sales and design.
- Commercial
- Work closely with the Commercial Director to implement revenue-generating processes.
- Maintain a strong understanding of revenue streams, using client data to identify new monetisation opportunities.
- Develop expertise in SBC Media’s full portfolio of brands and products, assisting the sales team with product positioning and client queries.
- Regularly engage with the sales team, alongside the Managing Director, to ensure a strong understanding of SBC Media’s value proposition and sales strategies.
- Lead the identification, development and launch of new revenue-generating products, services and commercial propositions across SBC Media.
- Monitor competitor activity, industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for new commercial offerings and competitive advantage.
- SBC Insights
- Work with the commercial director to develop the SBC Insights product set, solidifying it as a key revenue driver within the Media Business.
- Manage the delivery of bespoke client projects, ensuring all reports are commercially relevant, data-driven and completed within their deadlines.
- Create and maintain a calendar for SBC Insights branded reports.
- Own the delivery of SBC Insights reports, providing support and guidance to the Media Researcher as required.
- Manage the delivery of SBC Insights webinars and digital conferences.
