Job Description

This is an exciting role for an ambitious social media executive or community manager, who is passionate about how sport and physical activity can make a real difference to people’s lives.

Sport England’s vision is that everyone in England, regardless of age, background or level of ability should feel able to engage in sport and physical activity. We aim to grow the number of people doing grassroots sport and exercise, especially those that are less active and/or from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

We create innovative and award-winning behaviour change campaigns such as ‘This Girl Can’ and ‘Join the Movement’ and work with a unique sport and exercise network of partners across England that we invest in, such as National Governing Bodies (eg FA and British Cycling), County Sports Partnerships, Sports Clubs, Leisure Operators and Programmes for Children and Young People.

Reporting to the Head of Social Media, the purpose of this role is developing and executing engaging social media content plans and creating compelling copy and content.  Sport England’s social media team are dedicated to maintaining and growing a presence effectively across a range of social media platforms.  

The team works both proactively and reactively across many social media channels, sharing Sport England messaging, updates from partners and engaging with communities, with an overall aim of supporting Sport England’s ten year strategy Uniting the Movement.

This post sits within the Digital, Marketing and Communications team and plays a key role in engaging partners, stakeholders and the general public.
