Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with the removal, fitting, and bonding of vehicle windscreens and other automotive glass.
- Learn correct use of specialist tools, resins, adhesives, and calibration equipment.
- Support preparation of vehicles prior to glazing work, including protection of interiors, paintwork, and trim.
- Carry out basic glass repairs (e.g. stone chip repairs) under supervision once trained.
- Help with post-installation checks, including leak tests, sensor checks, and visual inspections.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment both on-site and within company vehicles.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Wear required PPE at all times and report any defects or safety concerns immediately.
- Learn and comply with safe manual handling techniques and COSHH requirements.
- Immediately report any damage to customer vehicles, near misses, or accidents in line with company policy.
Customer Service
- Attend customer locations in a polite, professional, and courteous manner.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding work being carried out, under guidance from senior staff.
- Respect customer property, privacy, and time at all times.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate complaints to a supervisor without delay.
Vehicle & Equipment Care
- Assist with daily checks of company vehicles, tools, and stock.
- Ensure tools and equipment are stored securely and maintained correctly.
- Help manage glass stock and materials, reporting shortages or damage.
Training & Development
- Actively participate in all training provided by the company or external providers.
- Work towards required industry qualifications and competency assessments.
- Accept feedback and instruction positively and apply learning to practical work.
- Maintain training records, logbooks, and competency sign-offs as required.
