Responsibilities

  • Assist senior technicians with the removal, fitting, and bonding of vehicle windscreens and other automotive glass.
  • Learn correct use of specialist tools, resins, adhesives, and calibration equipment.
  • Support preparation of vehicles prior to glazing work, including protection of interiors, paintwork, and trim.
  • Carry out basic glass repairs (e.g. stone chip repairs) under supervision once trained.
  • Help with post-installation checks, including leak tests, sensor checks, and visual inspections.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment both on-site and within company vehicles.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Wear required PPE at all times and report any defects or safety concerns immediately.
  • Learn and comply with safe manual handling techniques and COSHH requirements.
  • Immediately report any damage to customer vehicles, near misses, or accidents in line with company policy.

Customer Service

  • Attend customer locations in a polite, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding work being carried out, under guidance from senior staff.
  • Respect customer property, privacy, and time at all times.
  • Handle customer concerns professionally and escalate complaints to a supervisor without delay.

Vehicle & Equipment Care

  • Assist with daily checks of company vehicles, tools, and stock.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are stored securely and maintained correctly.
  • Help manage glass stock and materials, reporting shortages or damage.

Training & Development

  • Actively participate in all training provided by the company or external providers.
  • Work towards required industry qualifications and competency assessments.
  • Accept feedback and instruction positively and apply learning to practical work.
  • Maintain training records, logbooks, and competency sign-offs as required.
