Spook is a luxury event catering company based in London, bringing refined, seasonal food and drink to life through genuinely warm, exceptional service. For over a decade, we've worked alongside some of the world's most respected names — Prada, Hermès, Loewe, Gagosian, Apple, Christie's, and Sotheby's among them. Everything we do is led by creativity, care, and an obsessive attention to detail. Away from events, we run Archway — our neighbourhood restaurant in Battersea, listed in the Michelin Guide and loved for its ingredient-led cooking and menus that change monthly with the seasons.
The role
As Event Manager at Spook, you'll be at the heart of how we bring our events to life — taking projects from initial concept all the way through to delivery, and making sure every detail is exactly right. You'll work closely with clients, our chefs, and the wider operations team, acting as the connective tissue across the whole event lifecycle. The role calls for someone who can hold a lot of moving parts at once, build genuine client relationships, and stay composed and solutions-focused when things don't go to plan. If you take real pride in delivering something exceptional, this is the job for you.
What you'll be doing
- Planning & Delivery: Own the end-to-end planning and execution of luxury events, ensuring every detail reflects the client's vision and Spook's standards.
- Client Relationships: Serve as the main point of contact for your clients — managing expectations, building trust, and providing a genuinely high-touch service from first brief to final delivery.
- Budget Management: Build and manage event budgets with a sharp eye for financial efficiency, without ever compromising on quality.
- Venues & Suppliers: Coordinate with external venues and suppliers, making sure all the pieces come together seamlessly on the day.
- Team Leadership: Lead and direct on-site staff, ensuring everyone is briefed, confident, and working in sync for smooth execution.
- Problem Solving: Spot issues before they escalate and find smart solutions quickly — keeping both clients and the team on solid ground.
- Review & Improvement: Lead post-event reviews, gather feedback, and work with the ops team to keep raising the bar on how we work.
Requirement
- Proven Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in event management, ideally within luxury catering or high-end hospitality sectors.
- Client-Centric Approach: Ability to manage high-profile clients with professionalism, discretion, and finesse.
- Budgeting Skills: Strong financial acumen with experience managing event budgets.
- Excellent Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on client service.
- Leadership Ability: Experience leading and motivating a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Attention to Detail: Impeccable attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional, bespoke experiences.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
- Knowledge of London’s Event Scene: Familiarity with high-end venues, suppliers, and event trends.
