Network Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Network Design and Implementation:
    • Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, to support business operations and growth.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop network architecture and solutions that meet business requirements and industry best practices.
  • Network Security:
    • Implement and maintain network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs, to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
    • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
  • Network Monitoring and Optimization:
    • Monitor network performance, traffic, and bandwidth utilization using monitoring tools and diagnostic techniques.
    • Proactively identify and resolve network issues, optimize performance, and implement scalability and capacity planning strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role, with expertise in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
  • Experience with network security technologies and best practices, including firewall configuration, VPNs, and security protocols (e.g., SSL/TLS, IPsec).
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools, such as Wireshark, Nagios, and Cisco Prime.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
